BRIGITTE ALEPIN

Harvard trained independent Quebec tax expert and policy advisor, parliamentary witness, media personality, and outspoken critic of corporate tax evasion and fiscal inequality. At Harvard, Brigitte Alepin worked on a special project, The adaptation of our tax systems to globalization. She is the author of the best-selling books Ces riches qui ne paient pas d’impôt (2004), La Crise fiscale qui vient (2010) and Bill Gates, Pay your fair share of taxes… like we do! (2012). The Price We Pay is inspired by Brigitte Alepin’s second book, “La crise fiscale qui vient”.

It’s while working on a research contract at the Harvard University that Brigitte had the idea to write her 2010 book about the upcoming fiscal crisis, when she realized the importance of rapidly adapting our tax regimes to the globalization in order to avoid fiscal crises.  Her first book, Ces riches qui ne paient pas d’impôt, surpassed Harry Potter’s sales when it came out in February 2004, taking the first position.  Brigitte is the co-scriptwriter of The Price We Pay and she interviewed all the French experts in the film. Brigitte is also at the origin of the film’s project.
